Ways Busy Parents Can Help Children Succeed in School===============>
  • Use time in the car with your child, or other pockets of time, to squeeze in a little more learning.
  • Set priorities.  Decide what's most important to you.  Then consciously decide how to spend your time.  Make sure your decisions reflect what matters.
  • Spend one-on-one time.  Kids need both "quality" and "quantity" time with you.  There's nothing like spending time alone with a parent to make a child feel special.
  • Find your child's "prime time" for studying.  This may be a key to his success in school.  Work with your chld to find the homework time that's best for him.  You might find that his "prime time" works to your advantage.
GET Ready for Parent Teacher Conferences.... A school conference is a great opportunity for parents and teachers to learn more about their students.  You can both use the time to share important information to help your child suceed in school.  The key to a successful conference is two-way comunication.  By exchanging information, parents and teqachers can set the stage for a great school year.
THINK ABOUT THE QUESTIONS YOU'D LIKE TO ASK:
What is being covered?
What are your expectations?
How are my child's work habits?
Reading/Math levels
Does my child get along well with others?
Does my child cooperate in class and follow directions?
What can I do at home to help my child be more successful?
